Companion Medicine receives an ACT ICON innovation, business and development grant for $50,000. The ACT government has awarded this to CM based on its desire to bring a new area of veterinary clinical research service to Canberra revolving around clinical trials in companion animals. These are aimed at improving animal health and bringing new therapies to market. These trials will be carried out at high quality veterinary hospitals within the ACT veterinary clinical research network. The grant goes partially to fund well trained, dedicated veterinary nursing staff to care for the pets and support the owners while the study is running. A small bio-bank will grow with consented blood sample collections at these practices.
