Welcome to Companion Medicine
This first of its kind research service in Australia (and at the cutting edge globally), Companion Medicine conducts veterinary clinical trials some with human (or dual) health benefits within a network of A-class small animal veterinary practices in Canberra.
The service combines an e-clinical trials system, bio-bank facility and specially trained staff to conduct safe and effective trials of new medicines and treatments for cats and dogs.
Companion Medicine is at the forefront of a new generation of interest in the ’One Medicine‘ concept, where comparative clinical trials of medicines are run helping companion animals with naturally occurring diseases, which can also inform the treatment of humans with similar natural diseases.
We look forward to working with you in our endeavour to improve animal health. Our ultimate goal is to identify better treatments and cures for diseases such as diabetes, cancer and genetic disorders which can then be applied for the benefit of both animals and people.
